The Moonlandingz return after nearly eight years with a new single, ‘The Sign Of A Man’, which serves as the first preview from their next album, ‘No Rocket Required’. The track, produced with contributions from notable artists, will be followed by a London live show on February 21. The themes of the song explore modern masculinity and emotional disconnect.

The Moonlandingz are back with a new single titled ‘The Sign Of A Man’, marking nearly eight years since their debut album. The Sheffield band, featuring members of Fat White Family, released their first album ‘Interplanetary Class Classics’ in March 2017. The new track is the lead preview for their upcoming second album ‘No Rocket Required’, and it arrives with a music video directed by Jeanie Crystal.

The track was co-produced by Sean Ono Lennon and includes contributions from prominent artists like Yoko Ono and Philip Oakey of The Human League. Saoudi describes the song as exploring themes of unresolved alienation and the need for love, stating, “This is a song about torpor unbound, about the relegation of love into need, about our failure to summon up ‘care’… this is a song about justice.”

The single was entirely crafted at The Bowling Green Studios in Sheffield, but there are currently no additional details regarding the new album. The band will perform a one-off live gig at The Lexington in London on February 21. They previously performed in September as part of Transgressive Records’ 20th anniversary celebrations after a seven-year hiatus.

The Moonlandingz, a band formed with members from Fat White Family, gained notoriety with their debut album in 2017 and have since made a significant return to the music scene with their new single. Their latest work, ‘The Sign Of A Man’, showcases their evolving sound and addresses deeper themes underlined by social commentary. The upcoming album ‘No Rocket Required’ promises to build on their unique musical style while maintaining a connection with their fan base through live performances. Fat White Family, another significant act associated with the members of The Moonlandingz, has a scheduled tour supporting Primal Scream in London and in France, underscoring the vibrant and interconnected music scene they belong to.

The Moonlandingz have made a dynamic return with their new single, signaling an exciting new chapter with their upcoming album. Their commentary on modern male identity and emotional struggle resonates through the latest track. Fans can look forward to a live performance in London, reinforcing the band’s ongoing presence in the music landscape as they continue to build anticipation for future releases.
