Sex Pistols and Frank Carter may hold a secret gig in London next week, named “The SPOTS”. Following past performances, they prepare for a charity concert at Royal Albert Hall and Download Festival 2025. A ballot for tickets is now open, while tensions with former member Lydon persist.

The Sex Pistols and Frank Carter are potentially set for a secret show in London next week. Carter, known for Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Gallows, has replaced John Lydon as the frontman. Following two successful gigs at Bush Hall, they prepare for a performance at the Royal Albert Hall on March 24, and Download Festival 2025 in summer.

An announcement on March 12 revealed a mystery group named “The SPOTS” will play at the 100 Club on March 21. “The SPOTS” is a throwback name used by the original Sex Pistols when booking secret shows in 1977 to avoid police interference due to media scrutiny.

After the 100 Club’s historical gig in 1976, a ballot for tickets opened today with entries accepted until March 14. Each customer may purchase a maximum of two tickets. Guitarist Steve Jones remarked that including Lydon in the reunion was “wasn’t even worth asking”, amid ongoing tension between the band members.

Jones also expressed excitement over the Royal Albert Hall concert, citing it as a good cause and an opportunity to experience the venue for the first time. He praised Carter’s involvement, highlighting the youthful energy he brings to the band, stating it has rejuvenated their dynamic and made the experience enjoyable for everyone.

The planned show by Sex Pistols and Frank Carter signifies an intriguing development in the band’s legacy, with the return of fan-favourite elements and an engaging new frontman. Their upcoming performances, including the stimulating secret show and a charity concert, reflect both their historical significance and future potential within the music scene. Ongoing tensions with past members underline their complex relationships.

Stephen Jones launched his SENSEational collection during London Fashion Week, focusing on sensory themes with innovative hat designs. His work reflects a revival of millinery in everyday fashion, appealing to modern tastes while retaining the artistry behind hat-making. With the luxury millinery market expanding, Jones’ creativity sets new standards in the industry.

Stephen Jones showcased his latest collection, SENSEational, during London Fashion Week on 21 February. The vibrant atmosphere at his studio in Covent Garden highlighted the collection’s playful exploration of the senses, portraying sight, sound, taste, and smell through innovative hat designs. Since launching his first store in Covent Garden in 1980, Jones has built a stellar reputation in millinery, creating hats for notable clients including Diana, Princess of Wales, and Lady Gaga.

His Autumn/Winter 2025 collection features diverse styles such as satin bonnets that harness sound waves and chocolate hats crafted with advanced technology to prevent melting. Notably, a collaboration with chocolatier Jana Lai led to the creation of a hat made from dark chocolate, which Jones favours. This sweet accessory includes a artistic hole, an amusing nod to craftsmanship.

Jones noted that millinery has evolved, with current trends embracing different styles suited for everyday wear and special occasions alike. Hats have become an essential wardrobe item post-COVID-19, reflecting changing attitudes towards fashion. He remarked that, due to the cold weather, many now opt for practical headwear, highlighting the resurgence of millinery in everyday styles.

His presentation was a sensory feast, showcasing not only striking visuals but also engaging multiple senses, making it a memorable event at London Fashion Week.

Jones’ SENSEational collection captivates audiences by combining sensory experiences with innovative designs, reinforcing the resurgence of hats as fundamental fashion staples. As the market for luxury millinery grows, Jones continues to push boundaries, demonstrating the blend of tradition, craftsmanship, and modern trends in his creations.

Buckingham Palace will host an exhibition titled “The Edwardians: The Age of Elegance” starting April 11, featuring royal possessions from Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, and George V and Queen Mary. The exhibition includes over 300 objects, half of which will be displayed for the first time, highlighting the glamour of the Edwardian period.

An exhibition titled “The Edwardians: The Age of Elegance” will open on April 11 at Buckingham Palace’s King’s Gallery, showcasing items from Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, as well as George V and Queen Mary. Visitors will see eye-catching royal jewels like diamond tiaras, necklaces, and a unique ostrich fan, along with 315 objects, half of which are displayed for the first time.

Curated by Kathryn Jones of the Royal Collection Trust, the exhibition highlights the glamorous Edwardian lifestyle marked by opulence and hedonism, featuring garden parties and costume balls. Notable exhibits include Edward VII’s blue Fabergé cigarette case and Queen Alexandra’s coronation ostrich fan adorned with diamonds.

This exhibition is significant as it explores the style and possessions of two influential royal couples from the early 20th century, contributing to the understanding of the Edwardian era within the Royal Collection, which was established in 1993.

The exhibition at Buckingham Palace offers a glimpse into Edwardian culture and style, focusing on the possessions of notable royal figures from the early 1900s. It aims to attract visitors by highlighting the period’s glamour, reflected in the luxurious items chosen for display. The royal collection, opened to the public by Queen Elizabeth II in 2002, has not focused on this era until now, making this exhibition unique.

The upcoming exhibition at Buckingham Palace promises a vibrant showcase of Edwardian elegance through royal possessions. By featuring dazzling artworks and decorative items, it aims to illuminate the opulent lifestyle of the royal families of that era, marking an important addition to the Royal Collection with many first-time displays.
