The extension ensures East London will host the final race of Season 12, featuring 22 drivers contending for various championship titles and the last UK appearance of the GEN3 Evo car.
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship began racing at Excel London in 2021, a venue known for hosting major events that attract millions. Nearly 50,000 fans attended the Season 10 finale in July, where Pascal Wehrlein from the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team achieved his first World Championship win.
Damian Norman of Excel London described the experience as incredible, highlighting the special indoor/outdoor circuit partnership with Formula E. He emphasised the honour of staging the season finale and crowning a motorsport world champion in the UK, noting their collaboration on initiatives like setting the Guinness World Indoor Land Speed Record and their commitment to 100% renewable energy.
