Pierre Rainero, Cartier’s director of image, style, and heritage, expresses excitement: “It’s been a long-time dream on our side to see a Cartier exhibition organised by the V&A.” The exhibition aims to present Cartier’s creations in a new light, including previously unaddressed chapters of its history.
The design, led by architect Asif Khan, creates an immersive experience divided into three sections: Cartier’s inspiration, workshops, and branding evolution. Rainero notes the challenge of crafting a narrative that reflects Cartier’s multifaceted history, particularly its British connections.
Highlight pieces include the Scroll Tiara worn by Elizabeth II, Grace Kelly’s engagement ring, and a brooch featuring the rare pink Williamson diamond. These objects trace Cartier’s journey through decorative arts and craftsmanship innovations.
