Unlocked is a new 1,500-capacity event space opening in Shoreditch, East London, in a former warehouse. It will host warm-up parties this spring before its official launch later this year, featuring artists like Jyoty and Nooriyah. The venue aims to revitalise the area and counteract the trend of nightclub closures in the UK.

A new 1,500-capacity event venue named Unlocked is set to open in East London, taking over a disused warehouse in Shoreditch. The space, previously used as an “illegal rave venue” and vacant for a decade, will host a series of warm-up parties this spring, featuring artists like Jyoty, Nooriyah, and Mason Collective before its official launch later in the year.

The venue will kick off with its inaugural event, Unlocked Origins, led by Australian DJ Tobiahs on Saturday, March 29. Following this, a lineup of parties will unfold, starting with Nooriyah’s intimate event on April 4, and then Jyoty’s Homegrown on April 5. Manchester’s Mason Collective will also host their MVSON party in April.

A promotional video on Unlocked’s Instagram underscores its aim to combat the trend of nightclub closures in the UK, stating: “doors closing, culture fading. But, we’re pushing back.” The video captures the essence of revitalising the unused warehouse, declaring “10 years of silence. Nothing. Now, life. Unlocked Shoreditch opens its doors this Friday.”

Unlocked is a promising new venue in East London that aims to breathe life back into a disused warehouse. With a capacity of 1,500, it plans to host several warm-up parties ahead of its launch, featuring popular artists, and addresses the ongoing issue of nightclub closures by reclaiming cultural spaces.
