St Patrick’s Day celebrations will take place in central London on Sunday, featuring a parade organised by the mayor of London and the London Irish Centre. The parade will include floats, marching bands, dance troupes, and pageantry, starting from Hyde Park, proceeding past Trafalgar Square, and finishing at Whitehall.

Grand marshals for the event will be Paralympic cyclist Katie-George Dunlevy and Olympic boxer Kellie Harrington, both gold medal winners. The festival will be held in Trafalgar Square from 12:00 to 18:00 GMT, highlighting Irish arts, music, culture, and cuisine.

Performers will include Kila, Irish Women in Harmony, and Rag-CV. The Irish Creative Collective will offer sessions featuring comedy, spoken word, film, TV, and dance workshops. Additionally, there will be an exhibition on Ireland’s unsung women heroes and a special wine and food bar by celebrity chef Anna Haugh, celebrating Irish gastronomy.

This year’s theme of sustainability will include workshops for children to create items from recycled materials such as headdresses and bunting. Clips from a film documenting Nick Kelly and his band Dogs cycling from Dublin to Glastonbury will also be screened.
